How to choose a testimonial widget that fits your website

Grid, carousel or a short selection: choose a format, adjust its appearance and check the mobile experience before publishing.

A testimonial widget takes up space on a page that already has a purpose. It can help explain what working with you is like, answer a question before a booking or add context to a service. Its design should make that information easy to read.

The Sayso gallery lets you explore different presentations and customize their appearance. Start with the content and where you want it to appear. Color, shape and movement come after that.

Decide which question it should answer

Before choosing a template, look at the blocks above and below it. If you are explaining a service, choose feedback about that particular experience. Near a booking action, a testimonial about the process may be more useful than general praise.

Review the feedback available and approve the items you have permission to publish. You do not need to fill every gap: a short, relevant selection is often easier to read than a collection without context.

Match the format to the text and the space

A grid keeps several testimonials visible together and works well when their lengths are similar. A carousel can fit a more compact space, but its controls need to be obvious and the first item needs to make sense on its own.

Continuous motion needs extra care: animation should not make a comment difficult to read. For video, check the player size and the context of the testimonial before putting it in a small section.

Adjust the appearance around the content

In Sayso, you can preview designs and adjust the available appearance options. Choose colors with enough contrast and a card shape that fits your website. Make sure the author's name and rating are distinguishable from the comment itself.

Included options depend on your plan. You can explore a preview before deciding whether a different plan would help. Previewing a design does not mean it has been saved to the published widget: check the saved state when you finish.

Test the block in the actual page

After embedding the widget code, open the page on a phone. Check its width, text size and the spacing between controls. A design that looks balanced in the gallery may need another configuration inside a narrow column.

Scroll into the following content and check that the widget supports the page's main task. If it moves, spend a few seconds reading one complete comment. If it contains video, try the controls with your thumb.

Keep a selection you can explain

When new feedback arrives, check whether it adds information that your page does not yet offer. You do not need to replace a useful experience just because it is older. You should reconsider content that no longer describes the service you provide.

Publication and analysis serve different purposes. Keep the feedback that helps you improve as well, and use your inbox to follow up on outstanding issues.

Put it into practice

Choose one page and one customer question. Preview two designs using the same testimonials, check both on mobile and save the one that makes them easier to read.
